  It’s a bit frustrating that this perfume goes so unnoticed, because it’s truly a masterpiece. While citrus scents rarely surprise or offer anything new, Santa Maria Novella has managed with Bizzaria to make bergamot (which should be in the notes since it dominates) authentic, natural, and delicious. Back in Florence, I returned with two samples, and with just one spritz, my kids and husband went crazy: ‘Mom, you smell like lemons, how delicious!’. That’s what makes I Giardini Medicei so noteworthy: there are no complicated nuances, just very pure and natural scents. Bizzaria is lemon, bergamot, and orange blossom; Gelsomino is jasmine and night-blooming jasmine; Magnolia is rose petals and magnolias. L’Iris might be more complex, but still within simplicity. In short, we shouldn’t overlook these simple and pure aromas because, for me, they are the cradle of perfumery. The longevity of the entire collection is very good, and the trail, though not heavy, is excellent; you can tell you’re wearing it without being overwhelming. The only flaw is that the whole collection is pricey, but it’s definitely worth the praise.
