I’m surprised they label this as ‘floral’; I’d say it’s more of an oriental-floral. The blend is great, with iris and amber dominating from start to finish, though other notes add nice nuances. For me, the opening is the best part: an amber with talc and earth that shines through mentholated and citrus (orange) notes, alternating with resinous and honeyed touches. It’s gorgeous, like grabbing a piece of amber resin and letting a ray of sun pass through it to watch it break down into different colors and scents. In the heart, it sweetens with vanilla, and the iris leaves the earth behind for that classic makeup touch. There’s no clear transition to the dry-down, just two well-defined phases. Its vanilla and amber character could be cloying, but the low projection saves it. The trail is subtle, only noticeable with air or movement. It lasts about 5-6 hours. If the opening lasted longer, it would be amazing, but it doesn’t, and it can get boring pretty quickly.
