  Interesting, but it didn’t move me. Amano Amano is a challenging fragrance, one that makes you furrow your brow at first as you try to decipher it. The opening is dominated by frankincense, quite prominent, which reminded me (though from a distance) of the one in Black Meisterstück by Montblanc. Not because they’re identical, but for that dry, dark aura the frankincense creates as it lingers. In the dry down, cinnamon and mint appear, but in a soft, almost whisper-like version. They aren’t powerful or aggressive notes; they’re there to add a warm yet fresh nuance without stealing the spotlight. The beeswax… honestly, I would have loved for it to have more presence. It’s there, yes, but it doesn’t shine as it could. Still, I recognize the overall blend is well-balanced, with no jarring clashes or surprises. Overall, it smells good, but that’s about it. It didn’t excite me, didn’t spark any storytelling in my head, and didn’t leave me eager to rush back and sniff it again. It’s correct, sober, perhaps too restrained for my taste. One of those fragrances you respect, but don’t necessarily love.
