  Thanks to the generosity of my friend Chefpepor, who gifted me a 5ml miniature containing barely 2ml of liquid, I was able to discover this scent dedicated to Egyptian actor Omar Sharif. This Pour Homme pays homage to his figure, an icon with over 100 films who embodied both Eastern and Western masculine beauty, achieving success in Hollywood and Europe as the ultimate charismatic and dashing man. It’s a spiced oriental that reminds me a lot of Balenciaga Pour Homme, perhaps with less testosterone and less earthy weight, but with the same complexity and vibe, almost a clone. Launched two years later, it surely rode the coattails of BPH’s fleeting success, making this the accessible version of that aromatic nature. Its creation is fully commercial, as many artists do today, but here there’s genuine quality. If you find this extremely rare bottle, you’ll feel all the glamour of hyper-metrosexual men with explosive fragrances from the late 80s. Its opening is an intense geranium bomb over classic fougère-floral accords, where carnation and rose take center stage, creating notes that are hard to find nowadays since scandalous men’s perfumes aren’t in fashion, though we pray this trend returns someday.
