Zafar from LAB 8 is a woody oriental fragrance for men released in 2026. It is built to feel layered and full, with a clear move from brightness to depth.
Fruit and warm spice open the story, flowers and woods shape the middle, and amber, balsam, leather and musk settle the drydown. The mood is cozy, sweet and softly animalic.
The opening is crowded in a good way. Dried fruits, apple, pineapple, peach, strawberry, black currant, coconut, sweet orange and bergamot bring juicy sweetness, lifted by Damask rose. Cardamom, cinnamon, coffee, pepper, pink pepper, cumin and spiced notes add heat.
At the heart, rose meets jasmine, violet, iris, lily of the valley and coriander. Oud wood, sandalwood and cedar give weight, while saffron, amyris and cypriol lend a dry, earthy, faintly smoky edge.
The base turns resinous and smooth. Incense, vanilla, amber, gray amber, labdanum and balsamic notes melt together, framed by leather, patchouli, vetiver and oakmoss. Sandalwood, guaiac wood, white musk and a hint of civet round it out.
The main threads are woody, warm spicy and fruity, with amber, powdery and sweet touches. Aromatic, fresh-spicy, earthy and animalic facets keep the richness from feeling heavy.
A good match for men who like statement orientals, especially oud with rose, leather and vanilla, and fruity openings spiked with sweet spice.
Zafar goes for abundance: a packed top, a deep floral-woody core and a warm balsamic-leather finish. Worth sampling if you enjoy sweet woody orientals with incense.
