Petal MENAGERIE: A Rose Fragrance with Spice, Coffee, and Oud

Petal is a new Oriental Floral fragrance from MENAGERIE, released in 2026 and crafted for both men and women. It takes a familiar floral idea and gives it a darker, more complex twist.

The perfumer behind the scent is Bryson Ammons, who builds a composition around rose, jasmine sambac, black pepper, Haitian vetiver, coffee, pink pepper, patchouli, amber, and oud.

The opening of Petal is immediately floral but far from conventional. Rose and jasmine sambac bring a soft, classic elegance, and black pepper cuts through with a sharp, aromatic edge. It's fresh and spicy, with no sign of a heavy, syrupy sweetness.

The heart unfolds around Haitian vetiver, coffee, and pink pepper. Vetiver keeps things earthy and dry, coffee adds a roasted kind of warmth, and pink pepper ties the two together with its slightly fruity zing.

Patchouli, amber, and oud anchor the base. These are rich, resinous materials that give Petal a long-lasting finish and a noticeably woody trail. The amber softens the blend, while the oud adds an almost leathery depth.

The accords highlighted by the house are rose, warm spicy, woody, fresh spicy, white floral, patchouli, oud, earthy, coffee, and amber. That broad range means Petal shifts noticeably over time, moving from a bright floral opening to a dark and cozy drydown.

This is not a perfume that disappears quickly. Its heavier base notes give it plenty of staying power, and its overall personality feels better suited to evening wear or the colder months, when all that warmth and spice can really bloom.

Petal will appeal to people who like their florals rich and unconventional, especially those who enjoy rose combined with darker ingredients. It's also a good match for fans of coffee, vetiver, and oud who want a unisex fragrance with character and longevity.

Petal is an exciting entry in MENAGERIE's 2026 lineup. Bryson Ammons has built a floral fragrance that isn't afraid to be spicy, woody, and intense. It still feels refined, but it has enough edge to stand out in a full fragrance wardrobe.
