I’d define it as a classic cologne with a modern twist. If you love fougères, it’s a great buy; it’s not a direct copy from the 70s or 80s, but rather a classic DNA that’s been modernized. It’s not 100% original, but it doesn’t smell exactly like anything else I know. I absolutely love it for daytime wear at the office. It feels mature and shines especially in spring or summer.
Excellent proposition from the Solonoi house.
A beast mode fragrance for fougère lovers without feeling like you’re time-traveling to 1970. The citrus notes evolve into woods without sounding like other offerings. Writing about perfumes is like dancing to the rhythm of a building, so I’ll use classic references: citrus akin to Dior’s Eau Sauvage, updated in the style of Neroli Portofino but less harsh. Then comes the talc, reminiscent of Puig’s Brummel—that cheap one that for us mixes musty with shabby; here it smells like shaving foam similar to YSL’s Rive Gauche. As for the woods, I’m lost because I don’t have references. It feels unique, with no aroma of anything popular. Very formal, traditional, no fuss. Elegant and nothing too loud. It’s a no-brainer for fougère fans; if you’re looking for something less classic, look elsewhere. Summary: it has nothing to do with YSL’s Rive Gauche from the Tom Ford era, but it could easily replace it.
