The top notes feature narcissus interwoven with lime, green lemon, lemon zest, and anise. The heart reveals a combination of leather, castoreum, white flower tobacco, and cedar. What can I say about this perfume? It’s not a blind buy, nor is it for kids. If you’re looking for something mainstream that will shower you with compliments and make you feel like a king, this isn’t for you. It’s also not for those who want strong herbal, smelly animalic, or heavy leather scents. But if you’re seeking the perfect balance of all these notes, try this masterpiece: the name ‘Nahual’ fits it perfectly. I imagine a man who, after a meeting, wears a herbal perfume, leaves the city for the woods, and amidst the solitude, brings the legend of the mythical NAHUAL to life. He starts transforming into a beast, getting dirty with earth, moss, dampness, and woods, and that mix with his animalic stench combines with the previous perfume, creating a balanced and delicious aroma. Perfect for my signature scent. 🔥🔥 1-1.5h projection, over 7h longevity.

I bought Nahual solely based on a YouTube video and it was a total hit. Sure, not every perfume from the brand suits everyone, but as an independent niche house, their proposals are bold and unconventional. Nahual is the perfect example: it opens with a potent civet and acidic green lemon. I love that lemon because it steps away from classic citrus notes like bergamot or orange to showcase a very Mexican citrus touch. As it dries down, the animalic facet remains, but the oud, woody notes, and anise become noticeable; everything balances the scent and makes its evolution fun. The longevity is excellent (I can still smell it on clothes and skin the next day), and the projection is moderate to powerful without being annoying. It’s the most animalic perfume I own (for me, it’s stronger than Cuoium), but I don’t see it as hard to wear; on the contrary, if you know how to handle it, it’s very elegant and interesting. If you want a comparison, it follows a similar path to Zoologist’s Hyrax (not saying they’re identical, but they handle animalic notes similarly, so if you like or dislike one, you’ll likely feel the same about the other). Coyotl is definitely worth checking out and proves that Mexico has independent perfumery of excellent quality.

I bought Nahual after seeing a review on YouTube and it was a hit. Note that while some perfumes from the brand are easier to like, it is an independent niche house with bold proposals, like this one. Nahual opens with strong civet and acidic green lemon; I like it because it moves away from traditional citrus notes (bergamot, lime, orange) to feature one so Mexican. As it dries down, the animalic part persists along with oud, woods, and anise, all balanced for an entertaining evolution. The longevity is good (it’s noticeable on clothes and skin the next day) and the projection is moderate to powerful without being overwhelming. It’s the most animalic in my collection (stronger than Cuoium), but it’s not unwearable; if you know how to handle it, it’s elegant and interesting. It follows the path of Zoologist’s Hyrax (interpret at your discretion, but the handling of animalic notes is similar). Coyotl is worth it and proves that Mexico has independent perfumery of excellent quality.
