The box is huge, and the bottle, with its wood-like finish, gives incredible warmth and elegance. As my colleague said, it’s like walking into a carpentry shop filled with aromatic wood shavings that invade you with scents of different woods… very pleasant. It has quality and noble elegance; it could be 100ml, but it’s not. It resembles a softer Encre Noire, not quite as dark, but with good longevity. A great perfume for your collection.
What a find! Woods and vetiver pushed to the limit, but combined with a surprise. Resins, woods, vetiver, and that’s it—that’s the vibe. To me, it’s like Encre Noir with steroids, but brighter. The longevity is brutal, a true EDP. The price-to-quality ratio is ridiculous. You can tell they put care into the bottle design.
In my opinion, it’s a fragrance that makes me think of walking into a fine carpentry shop where cedar is being cut, mixed with slightly citrusy notes. It doesn’t project much, but it’s a pleasant, somewhat mature, and slightly formal aroma. The packaging and name reflect exactly what’s inside. It reminds me slightly of Lattafa’s Raghba Wood Intense, but the Woody smells a bit greener and less intense.
Vetiver, patchouli, cedar, and oud: the main things my inexperienced nose detects, forming the base of this intense fragrance. This isn’t a trendy designer vibe. It follows the path of Encre Noire, both extreme and original, with nods to Terre d’Hermès (leaning more toward the Parfum) and even that budget gem, Franck Olivier Black Touch. In the end, it settles into a deep vetiver, but above all, extremely, extremely woody, almost to the limit, as the name suggests. A purely winter perfume for men who love deep scents. The longevity is good, a bit better than a normal EDT, and the projection is spot on; scents like this don’t need to be beastly. I don’t see it as daily wear because the intensity could be overwhelming. A great woody perfume that makes me stand up for myself against the mediocre performance I’ve smelled from this house lately (Rasasi has good options, but it’s hit or miss regarding longevity). Give it a try. ***Of the perfumes also mentioned in this review, the Woody ends up being the most woody of all. Only for those who are true aficionados of wood in terms of fragrance preferences.
