  Another happy discovery from my obsessive searches, another example of men’s colognes before Paco Rabanne Pour Homme: soft, prioritizing a ‘clean’ scent, herbs, and citrus, with a discrete and elegant trail. Back then, opulence was for women and potency for sharpshooters like Brut or Aramis. This V by Victor reminds me of Chanel Pour Monsieur: a fresh, pleasant, very green cologne that opens with mint, lavender, eucalyptus, and lemon, evolving into a lovely vetiver with a wonderful oakmoss now absent in current fragrances. Effervescent by nature, the spell fades after 4 hours, but during that time you enjoy a spring landscape with gentle breezes and a blue sky. Optimistic, pleasant, natural, and old-school. In summer, it’s a gift to take a night walk soaked in it. Rating: 8/10

  Absolutely fresh and distinguished, a valid proposal that highlights the differences between yesterday and today. Here, there’s no nostalgia, but substantial changes in formulation and natural ingredients, resulting in something beautiful and distinct from the usual. Delicate in projection, it accompanies you discreetly; longevity is moderate but exquisite—citrusy, green, with that delicious touch of amber at the end. More convinced than with the wandering nature of some modern proposals, these old-world elixirs are comfortable anchors to get excited with every sniff.
