Ulric de Varens brings us a worthy Sauvage substitute. Starts citrusy and synthetic, but then the real magic happens: fresh, ambered, and versatile for day or night, cold or hot, formal or casual. It’s an all-rounder with good longevity and moderate sillage, though at this low price, you can always spray more to make it last all day. In short, an excellent clone of Dior’s gem. Rating 8/10.
Pleasant and versatile fragrance, very similar to Sauvage. Needs a bit more of a hand—minimum 10 sprays. For the price, it’s unbeatable.

I don’t buy the ‘Sauvage clone’ claim because Ulric de Varens Star came out before Dior even created their perfume.

Smells almost identical to Sauvage at first, but it doesn’t last because it lacks the ambroxan. If you can’t stretch for the original, UDV Star is your savior. Just be prepared to use more and reapply every two hours if you want it to still be noticeable. If you’re looking for the Sauvage DNA at a friend’s price, Armaf Club de Nuit Urban Man Elixir is definitely the one; it’s not a 100% clone (they’re about 80% similar dry down), but that touch of sweet amber makes it magical and powerful.

Indeed, it’s a dead-on clone of Dior Sauvage.
It’s a clone of part of Sauvage, but it can get boring because the scent doesn’t mutate; it smells the same from start to finish, which can be heavy on the nose. I describe it as a perfume that takes that characteristic part of Dior Sauvage and multiplies it by five, making it a bit of a pest. Also, it’s very similar to Millionaire Absolute sold in Chile; they’re practically identical and have the same problem of being the same from start to finish, both trying to clone Dior Sauvage.
It’s a scent very similar to Dior Sauvage EDT, but watch out: ambroxan is missing, so UDV’s longevity is very short. For others, it lasts 6 hours; for me, with 6 sprays, it’s gone in just 2 hours. My score is 7/10: it’s cheap and delicious but lasts very little. For the price, it’s worth a try, but if you need to reapply every 2 hours. If it lasted 6 hours, it would be a 10/10.

Personally, I don’t detect Sauvage; this smells very green, almost like a plant, which doesn’t really convince me. It lasts 4-6 hours with little evolution and can get boring. I wouldn’t recommend it since there are better Sauvage dupes like Armaf Ventus, and if you’re looking for something daily or versatile at this price, there are better alternatives.

Very nice aroma and masculine, watch out: it came out before Sauvage. My bottle lasts a sigh, about 4 hours, but I’ll buy another to try it again. That orange note at the start, the amber and wood, wow.

Works great in almost all seasons, except extreme heat where it doesn’t quite convince me (still good for summer). The price-to-quality ratio is unbeatable; it’s worth every penny. Unlike Armaf Ventana, it doesn’t smell synthetic. Its only flaw: it’s not a beast, lasting 3-5 hours, so you need to spray generously (10-12 times without fear). At this price, it’s ideal for layering or carrying a rollerball for mid-day touch-ups. If you like Sauvage but don’t want to spend, it’s a top alternative.
