  • Smyrna… every time I wear it, I wonder how long it took me to decide. It’s a magnificent, imposing, bold, and vibrant rose. Beautiful in that mature, serene way that doesn’t need artifice or flashiness; it radiates innate elegance. I’ve always run from rose scents like the plague, but lately, I’ve been chasing that note. In Smyrna, the rose takes center stage with personality and presence. It blends exquisitely with dry, spicy woody notes thanks to the pepper, which doesn’t go unnoticed and acts as a flawless supporting actor that elevates the star to another level. It has that niche refinement and delicacy. It reminds me a bit of Velvet Rose & Oud by Jo Malone, but this one is warmer, cozier, and sweeter; Smyrna is the cool, reserved sister with a distant yet captivating character. Unfortunately, longevity isn’t its strong suit, and I have to reapply, but that’s my drama with all perfumes, and I allow Smyrna its fleeting nature.

  • ThreeFingers

I haven’t had the pleasure of trying it yet, but I snagged it for €17 for 100ml, when it usually goes for around €50, so I’m giving it a shot to see how it turns out.

  • A powerful, refined, and dense rose scent, absolutely delicious. Imagine standing in a rose garden at dawn in spring, with a gentle breeze, you on a bench with your eyes half-closed as the day begins; the air fills with the perfume of the flowers. You have nothing to do but pass the time enjoying the moment, dreaming. If you like roses, it’s very interesting.

  • It smells to me like an intense fuchsia rose, bathed in black pepper and a touch of cardamom, all over a woody base that gives it weight without weighing it down. It’s fairly linear, though the pepper gains ground until it dominates the dry-down. It projects well at first but fades quickly to a skin scent that lasts about 6 hours. I’m not usually a fan of roses, but this one caught me: it’s a mature, characterful perfume that isn’t vintage, and I don’t think it bothers anyone. I see it as a unisex wildcard for all seasons. I recommend it to rose lovers. Pleasant: 7/10 Interesting: 5/10 Versatile: 10/10 Original: 6/10
