  1. vitodito

A fleeting love story turned into liquid art by Duchaufour. In 2011, L’Artisan gifted us this masterpiece inspired by the Seville ‘madrugá.’ It opens with hyper-realistic petit grain and fresh orange blossom that teleport you to the streets of Seville. Then, beeswax and benzoin recreate the scent of candles melting under the morning sun. Just a bit more incense would have been perfect, but the composition is so good I forgive any criticism. A discontinued gem that bottles the very essence of Seville.

  2. Exquisite, sweet, and delicate—a pure sensory delight. But be warned: as a Seville native with many Holy Weeks in my soul, I must clarify this isn’t an exact recreation of the Andalusian ritual. I love it; it transports me back to my childhood thanks to that beeswax, even though real candles don’t smell quite like that anymore due to the cost. I barely detect the lavender, and the incense should be more prominent—a more apothegmatic touch would have been better. Also, it lacks an animal note, like the horses strolling through the historic center. What a pity it’s discontinued; wearing it feels like reliving a lost love.

  3. A good fragrance. The opening is probably the most realistic petit grain I’ve ever tried, with the orange leaf and branch feeling very natural. Then comes the star: the orange blossom, slightly sticky like the bud, with that indolic vibe reminiscent of Lutens’ FDO. The sweetness comes from the beeswax and benzoin, balanced by jasmine and olibanum. It has above-average performance and deserves to be heard.

  4. pedjalazaro

I like it. It starts green and floral with petit grain and lavender, but soon the green tones fade and the orange blossom emerges, sweetened by beeswax, which becomes the protagonist. Hints of jasmine and benzoin linger into a resinous dry down. It’s too sweet for my taste, but of excellent quality. A must-have for orange blossom lovers. Ideal for spring and autumn, day and night. Lasts long with a heavy sillage.
