  • Upon spraying, I thought it was a brutal, shrill leather bomb that I disliked. I don’t know what’s wrong with me regarding this house; almost none of them like at first, it seems like a piercing chaos. But within two minutes, it softens and the lavender takes the lead, soft and aromatic, with a spicy note and prominent but creamy, well-balanced leather. Finally, I like it. Longevity is over 8 hours with high projection for the first 2-3 hours, then it fades. Suitable for many occasions, not for intense heat. I love lavender and leather in certain perfumes, so I expected to buy it. Although I appreciate it, I see it as more masculine than feminine. I don’t enjoy wearing it myself, so I’ll share the sample with my partner to see what they think.

Great launch from G&B. It’s fine, soft, and treated leather, in the style of Indompté. The opening combines leather and lavender excellently with total clarity. A perfectly balanced perfume, without oud or civeta to my nose, I suppose they add body. It shares similarities with Silky Wood, its younger sibling; it’s a mature, elegant, improved version. Longevity is 8 to 10 hours without issues. 9/10.

  • At first, it smells classic, masculine, and very 90s, with lots of lavender. Then comes a blend of apple and tobacco with slightly sweet vanilla in the base. I think the tobacco is the combination of oud and suede. I really liked it: it’s apple/tobacco/vanilla, with a classic opening and a dry down similar to Silky Woods. It could be a Parfums de Marly for that sweet apple and designer touch. Very good, fruitier in the heart and brighter at the start.

  • What has G&B achieved with this purple concept. It’s dry leather, a known archetype, but only the beginning of a fantastic combination. Within minutes, the purple note smells exactly what it is: warm, sweet plum with a touch of civet, accompanying a more structured leather that supports rather than dominates. Incredible representation. The dry down is fruity, warm, and sweet. For me, it’s an 8/10, a very good proposal, although my favorite remains Silky Woods.

First time posting a review and it already deserves it: Purple Suede is pure leather, reminiscent of Tom Ford’s Ombre Leather. It opens with a blast of lavender and leather, which gives it its name. As it dries down, you get woods, tobacco, and a hint of vanilla that makes it perfect for being worn close to the skin. The trail and longevity are impeccable. It’s not for leather beginners since the leather dominates throughout and can be overwhelming, but if you love the leather accord like I do, it’s a must-have in your collection.
