  • It’s a unique fragrance; the initial blackcurrant note doesn’t work for me, but then comes the powdery violet and cereal notes. It’s subtle, pretty, and original for daytime wear. Its only flaw is that it doesn’t last at all on the skin.

  • I absolutely love this perfume, but it leaves me torn. If money weren’t an issue, it would be my go-to fragrance. Honestly, even though the scent is fascinating, I don’t think it’s worth the price. The notes are incredibly unique, original, sweet, and fresh all at once. It really stands out because I’ve never smelled anything like it. There’s a touch of talc, fig notes, and although it sounds weird, it smells like cereal—like Fruit Loops with milk. In my experience, it doesn’t evolve much; it feels full and rounded from the start. But once you consider the $150 for 100ml, everything changes. For some reason, the longevity is almost non-existent. There’s no sillage, and you have to apply a lot for others to notice it. I’ve never had a 30ml bottle last less in my life. Even though I wore it in the middle of summer in Spain, there was no trace after 2-3 hours. It’s a shame that such a rich and special scent is so stingy and can’t be shared, not even with yourself. If you tried it and loved it but don’t want to spend, I recommend the Divain dupe; although it smells like alcohol at first and is less elegant, it becomes quite similar after a while. The worst part is that the Divain version actually projects more than the original. I really hope Jo Malone does their own creation justice.

  • This perfume has me conflicted. If money weren’t so tight, Poppy & Barley would be my daily wear. But to be honest, even though I adore it, it’s not worth $150. It smells super different, original, sweet, and fresh all at once. It stands out because nothing else is like it. It feels powdery with figs and a cereal scent, like Fruit Loops with milk. The scent is well-rounded from the start, but longevity is almost non-existent. It has zero projection and requires heavy application; a 30ml bottle lasted less than I’ve ever experienced. In summer in Spain, there was no trace after 2-3 hours. It’s a shame something so delicious is so stingy. If you love it but don’t want to spend, try the Divain dupe: after a while, it smells very similar and projects more. Wish Jo Malone would do more justice.

After reading all the reviews, I was dying to try it. At El Corte Inglés, right in front of the Jo Malone stand, I couldn’t resist. I tested several, but this poppy one made me stop. I thought, ‘don’t be silly, give it time,’ because I sometimes regret my purchases. But this one, when applied to skin and allowed to evolve, improved with time. The opening is a soft, milky fig that gradually becomes powdery and dry, yet without losing its creaminess. What a treat! I bought the small bottle again. At home, with damp skin, I absolutely love it. With wear, I notice a chamomile and mimosa infusion floral note. The only flaw is that it’s an eau de cologne and doesn’t last long, but it’s sold at perfume prices.

I’d been dying to try this after reading so many reviews. When I walked into El Corte Inglés, I bumped into the Jo Malone stand and couldn’t resist. I tried several, but the Poppy one stopped me dead in my tracks. I liked it, but I thought, ‘don’t be silly and give it time, or you’ll regret it.’ It’s happened to me before: I like it, buy it, and then… like Fragrantica teaches you to smell, you find a base note that doesn’t fit and prevents the scent from rounding out. I took my time, applied it to my skin, and let it evolve. I went out, handled my errands, and… the scent improved. The opening is a soft, milky fig, very subtle. Gradually it becomes more powdery and dry, but without losing that creamy texture, all the way through. A total hit!!! So I went back and bought the small bottle so I wouldn’t regret it. I got home, showered, and with damp skin (that’s how I like to apply it), I put it on and I’m happier than ever. Just in case: with daily use, I notice a scent not listed in the pyramid, like chamomile and mimosa flowers, almost more the former, as if they were steeped in tea. The only flaw is that it’s an eau de cologne and doesn’t last long, but it’s sold at perfume prices.

  • If I hadn’t known about its notes beforehand, I probably wouldn’t have stopped. But once I tried it, the scent is perfectly rounded—nothing missing, nothing overpowering: distinctive, surprising, and understated. To me, it’s an exquisite fragrance that makes me feel amazing, even though I wish it lasted longer. Despite its age, it was my favorite perfume of 2022.

  • If I had known the notes beforehand, maybe I wouldn’t have been interested. But upon trying it, it felt well-rounded; nothing was missing or excessive. It’s distinct, surprising, and subtle. For me, it’s exquisite and makes me feel great, although I wish it lasted longer. Despite not being new, it was my favorite in 2022.

  • First test at the airport for the 2022 holidays. I was eager to try it and it made me excited. The fruity note didn’t show up on my skin; instead, there was a powdery, vegetal, and soapy aroma that smelled like immature cereal spikes, oat milk, or Lactovit gel. After two hours, it blended with my natural scent and disappeared. It’s unisex, pretty, and soft, ideal for the office in mild seasons or soft summers. Whoever wears it will seem like a pleasant and kind person, like the color of sand or golden wheat. Pleasant: 7/10 Interesting: 7/10 Versatile: 8/10 Original: 7/10

  • I love powdery notes, violet, and Kenzo Flower (because of the poppy, I know it’s an artistic scent). I went to the store specifically for this, and I must say it disappointed me. The olfactory pyramid on the website is misleading; the opening is very green. The bottle was almost empty and didn’t yield much, so I can’t comment on its longevity, but out of all I tested, this was the most boring. I detected watery blackcurrants in green rose water. Green perfumes don’t excite me, but I fell in love with the intense version!

The most beautiful fig note I’ve ever smelled. I’ve given this note many chances, both cheap and expensive, and there was always something that didn’t quite convince me. It mixes great with the powdery notes, but as others say, it’s not an iris scent, but rather wheat and barley.

I truly love it! I feel great when I wear it, and it’s one of those scents I don’t like to mix with other Jo Malone fragrances. It’s versatile, works from moderate to high temperatures, I haven’t tried it in winter yet but I’m sure it will work well. It goes with casual or formal wear and seems more daytime-appropriate. It’s powdery, but not due to musk or iris, but from the grains; it smells like ground barley and wheat, that powdery vibe I imagine. You can also detect the fig, a bit fruity and green, but not fresh and herbal like in Un Jardin en Mediterranee; it’s the fruit without being sweet, without the leaf. Although it’s an eau de cologne, it’s very long-lasting: it lasts 8 to 10 hours on my skin. It’s the only Jo Malone I own with that performance.

I absolutely love this perfume. I feel amazing wearing it, and it’s one of those scents I don’t want to mix with other Jo Malone fragrances. It’s super versatile, handles medium to high temperatures flawlessly; I haven’t tried it in winter yet, but I’m sure it works just as well. It goes perfectly with both casual and formal outfits, and I’d say it’s more of a daytime scent. It has a powdery note, but not the typical musk or iris kind—it’s more like the powder from grains; it’s hard to explain, very abstract, smelling of ground barley and wheat—that’s the kind of musk I imagine. You can also detect the fig, slightly fruity and green, but not the fresh, herbal fig like in Wood Sage & Sea Salt; it’s the fruit itself without being too sweet, no fig leaf vibes. Even though it’s a cologne, it’s incredibly long-lasting; on my skin, it lasts about 8 to 10 hours without any issues. It’s the only Jo Malone I own that gives me such great performance.
