Honestly, it didn’t work for me. At first, it smells like Aventus, but after 10 minutes, the patchouli completely overpowers everything. With the moss, it gives off a wet, cold, rainy forest vibe, but in a very negative way. It smells terrible and dirty. Don’t buy it blindly.

Bad. The opening reminds me of Aventus DNA, but after 10 minutes, the patchouli swallows everything. Combined with the moss, it gives off a damp, cold, rainy forest vibe, but in a bad way. Horrible, dirty scent. Don’t buy it blindly.

Great fragrance, it won me over gradually. The opening is more than fruity, sweet, and pleasantly acidic, with none of that artificial ‘almond’ vibe found in hyper-hyped black-bottle Arab scents. Note: this does NOT imitate Aventus. Once it dries down, the floral notes emerge, along with what I love most: earthy, fresh, and masculine, leaving the citrus-fruity top behind. There’s a green mossy touch, almost mentholated, reminiscent of an unlisted modern oak moss. It lasts well, easily surpassing six hours, though the projection fades quickly. A youthful yet mature scent, perfect for hot climates down to mild autumn weather. Good price-to-quality ratio (Lattafa has already dropped prices). A great discovery, analyzed without worrying about what it’s supposed to emulate. Give it a try. Note: the smoke and incense aren’t dominant for me; they work as supporting notes in the background, so don’t be alarmed. It’s a decent similarity to Hacivat, though Al Dana dries down with a more mossy character.

There’s a green mossy touch, almost mentholated, reminiscent of an undeclared modern oak moss. Lasts well, easily over 6 hours, though the top notes fade quickly. Good perfume, smells very similar to Hacivat except for some extra sweet notes. It lasts less and has weaker projection. For the price, it’s excellent, but it’s not niche; it doesn’t evoke that beautiful nature that Nishane does.

Good perfume, smells very similar to Hacivat except for some extra sweet notes. It doesn’t last as long and has less projection. For the price, it’s excellent, but it’s not niche; it lacks that beautiful, evocative nature that Nishane has.

  • Al Dana competes with Hawas Black or Supremacy Not Only Intense (I haven’t tried Hacivat yet) but with less noise and much more elegance. Here, the citrus notes don’t hide behind the pineapple; they’re noticeable throughout. The pineapple is less harsh and more natural, with clearer overall notes. You can sense the green moss, jasmine, incense, smoke, and woods much more delicately than in other fragrances from this house. It’s like a Hawas but refined, more mature, elegant, and less loud. It doesn’t perform poorly either; minimum 8 hours, strong projection for the first two hours, and it reaches further with movement. If you like the DNA of those, this Lattafa release takes a step up in quality, fully recommended and light years ahead of other hyped scents from the house. Time to go get Hacivat.

  • Hi, I just picked up this fragrance in Arg amid the new wave of Arab perfumes. I was looking for a Nishane clone but stumbled upon a brutal Aventus dupe, almost identical to Borouj’s Spiritus. At first, the pineapple is barely noticeable, but the citrus is there, evolving within minutes into something citrusy and spicy, calm, with white florals and freshness. Then it transforms into its main phase: valley lilies, woods, smoke, and an oak moss (even if they don’t say so) that gives off a morning dew freshness in an autumn forest. With just 5 sprays, it lasted over 7 hours. A friend asked if I’d re-applied, and no; while I’m writing this, she asked why it smells good from a meter away. It needs to mature; if it’s like Borouj, it should last 10-12 hours. Suitable all year round, for all ages, it smells clean.
