A very citrusy cologne, perfect for refreshing those hot summer days.
I only remember that huge bottle that was never missing from home; there was always one in any bathroom I visited. It was incredible, just as ubiquitous as “blue soap.” I never liked it; I used it rarely, but my mom did bathe with Jean Nate.
The quintessential vanity cologne of my grandmother. I’ll always remember the scent of her right after a bath with Jean-Naté at noon, just before lunch, mixed with the air of her patio in a Caribbean town. It’s citrusy but not acidic, very spicy. It smells like sweet lemon; you can detect the musk, sandalwood, lavender, and bergamota. It’s a classic in accessible perfumery. Among citrusy feminine colognes, this one fits best. It clings to clothes and always smells clean. Ahhh, memories of my grandma sewing, watching soap operas, and showering me with love. She used to give me little bottles, and now using it brings me so much nostalgia.
It was my very first perfume ever! My mom bought it for me when I was 10… that’s when my love for fragrances began; she wore Poison, and I wore Jean Nate. Mine was exactly like the picture, complete with an atomizer, and I never saw it again. Now they only sell a giant bottle that’s much more diluted. In fact, it was hard to find back then; I only had one bottle and we never found another. To me, it’s bergamot, roses, and lavender 🙂
It’s my favorite cologne; I absolutely love it. That freshness is wow, and the scent is super relaxing. Jean Nate has soft citrus notes, not acidic ones; the lavender and rose are subtle, but on my skin, the geranium takes the lead with delicate woody undertones. It doesn’t evolve much, smelling the same throughout, but the blend is a caress to my nose. I always keep one at home.

The most beautiful memories of my childhood are of my mother bathing from head to toe right after stepping out of the shower. She was so fresh, delicious, and smelled like the most expensive, fine perfume around. Too bad they reformulated it, and now it smells like car air freshener or room spray. My mother used the cologne or friction lotion after bathing, and it lasted all day, leaving her delicious trail wherever she went. These days, she doesn’t even like this divine jewel from her youth anymore; she finds it horrible and wouldn’t dream of giving it as a gift. Too bad something so lovely has been altered.
It’s a citrus scent that’s also sweet, and it’s refreshing.
Amazing! A refreshing explosion of citrus, magical for citrus lovers. Then come the spices, and it finishes with exquisite woods that linger on me for a long time, and I can’t stop smelling it. I love it! A true classic!

It’s just as good… ideal for anyone who, for whatever reason, whether it’s because it’s cheap and fragrant or simply a personal delight, shouldn’t envy those expensive citrus perfumes like that luminously blue one with the sky-blue cap (whose trail on the skin lasts just as long as this). I wish it became more popular in Chile… highly recommended for freshening up after a shower and for staying in during the summer months.
Still the same… ideal for anyone looking for it for the price, the scent, or personal pleasure. It has nothing to envy from those expensive citrus perfumes, like that bright blue one with a sky-blue cap (whose trail lasts just as long as this). Wish it would become more popular in Chile… ultra-recommended for freshening up after a shower and for staying in during summer.
I once smelled Neroli Portofino. Well, it’s not exactly similar, but it follows the same path. It’s a light, clean cologne with a lemon tree scent, soft woods, and a floral touch. On my skin, it starts smelling like frankincense, very much like Champa. I bought the large one with the black spherical cap. Some might think it doesn’t last because it’s not overpowering, but once you apply it to your skin, it soaks into your clothes. It’s timeless; I used it back in the early 90s, and today I bought it again—wow! There’s nothing better for summer. Completely unisex, perfect for extreme heat, it’s refreshing!

You can still find it at pharmacies and a few drugstores, but now it smells like a flat, lifeless water without any charm. They gave it a terrible reformulation; being a fragrance my mother adored, today she wouldn’t even think of wearing it. I remember it as beautiful, unique, and supremely charming.
This is the cologne my grandmother used to put on us after our baths when we stayed overnight at her house—that’s how I remember it: a fresh, citrusy scent with a hint of vanilla. It brings back great memories, especially since my grandmother loved perfumes just as much as I do.
Since it’s a citrus fragrance and based on my activities, it doesn’t last very long, but it’s fresh, light, and slightly sweet (just the right amount, in my opinion), perfect for warm to hot weather. Sometimes I use it as a body mist after a shower or just before bed. At first, it has a moderate sillage, but over time it becomes lighter. What I love is that, yes, it’s citrusy, but it doesn’t just smell like lemon; it has a lovely floral complexity and a base I really enjoy. It could even pass as unisex, though its slight sweetness makes it feel feminine. I haven’t tried many citrus scents, but none have convinced me like Jean Nate for such an affordable price.
Jean Naté: a sigh of nostalgia and timeless elegance. It’s not just a cologne; it’s a portal to memories. For me, it evokes my father—his serene and elegant presence. He wore it naturally; while many label it feminine, it is decidedly unisex. Its citrusy, fresh profile recalls classic masculine scents like Tom Ford’s Neroli Portofino, with that vibrant bergamot that awakens the senses. It pairs beautifully with fragrances like 4711, Maria Farina by Roger & Gallet, and Mäurer & Wirt, even echoing the traditional touch of Pinaud. They all share that clean, luminous, and refreshing spirit. What fascinates me most is its ability to paint olfactory landscapes: it smells like a field after a morning rain, when the air is charged with life and the earth breathes. Despite its accessible price, it exudes discreet luxury, like a perfectly ironed white shirt or a cup of tea in antique porcelain. I just got it back as a gift from my wife, and it’s been a delight. It’s like reconnecting with a part of myself I thought I’d forgotten. Jean Naté doesn’t shout; it whispers. And in that whisper lies beauty.
Jean Nate is a citrus, fresh, and spicy cologne that makes it wonderful, pleasant, and subtle. It has that vintage vibe but always feels elegant. When I was a child, my grandmother used to wear it (I thought it smelled like grandma), but recently I spotted it at a perfume shop and bought it as a gift. I set aside about 30ml to try it out, and what a delightful surprise. It lasts longer than average, with notes that feel nothing synthetic but perfectly crafted. The citrus is slightly sweet and earthy at the base, with spices and a musk finish that keeps you coming back for more. It’s a pure joy to apply after my evening shower before bed.
