  1. I believe, without fear of being wrong, that almost all Spanish-speaking collectors know this perfume thanks to Bofifa. That’s why I took the liberty of asking for his opinion when making the comparison I’m leaving in this review, for which I sincerely thank him. From the very first moment I smelled it I identified a similarity with Van Cleef & Arpels Pour Homme. That apothecary, herbalist, and old medicinal syrup smell is present in the Turkish perfume just as in the French relic, which are similar in the floral notes, with jasmine (and citrus), but mainly a spectacular and masculine retro-style rose, grandfather-style, the kind that scares maidens away, but that we vintage collectors love and value given its increasing scarcity. Clove is a V&A note that Jagler does not list, but I sense something along those lines, I don’t know if it’s because of the musk combined with the deep woods that are also similarly present in both perfumes, like a pair of gloomy, damp, moldy and half-rotten trunks, reflecting two souls tormented by a hard life. Despite the above, I clarify that they are not 100% similar, since V&A has a special elegance and a richness of notes that Jagler does not have, but the latter enjoys a versatility that the former lacks. Yet they do resemble each other, yes, like true first cousins, those whose fathers and mothers are siblings. I conclude by saying that I feel lucky to have Jagler in my wardrobe, and if you have it too, thank good Bofifa for introducing us to this marvel, which offers the last vestige of the DNA that represents the greatness of what V&A Pour Homme was, not because it is a clone or inspiration, but because of the vibes it gives off.
