Hora de la Verdad Sombra by Senyokô is a leather fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2022, the nose behind this creation is Euan McCall. The top notes are blood, white pepper, saffron, and thyme; the heart features Turkish rose, narcissus, and jasmine; while the base reveals leather, birch tar, chameleon tincture, castoreum, almug (civet), musk, oud wood, Spanish myrrh, oakmoss, guaiac wood, and cedar.

This perfume is more of an experience than a scent to share. It’s animalic, dark, and metallic, smelling of blood, dirty leather, and a bullring. At first, it seems rough and unpleasant, but you need to give the decant a chance. It reminds me of Bull’s Blood by Imaginary Authors, which might have been the inspiration, though this is more potent (Extract version :D). It also brings to mind A T Rex by Zoologist; if you like this difficult style, you’ll love it, otherwise, run.
One of the two fragrances from this house, inspired by Hemingway’s ‘The Sun Also Rises’, smells like a bullfighter gored by a bull. It’s a very alternative olfactory experience, nothing conventional.
