  • I tested a sample without spray, and Eau Mer de Sortie smells like that classic citrus cologne with green and floral notes of neroli and petit grain, but there’s a twist: it adds a watery-marine touch and vetiver as it dries. At first, it’s very citrusy, green, and floral, and gradually the vetiver emerges with a slightly spicy and anise-like base. As the citrus fades, the marine accord appears—a salty scent that accompanies the citrus and vetiver, which gains prominence over time. I’ve read it’s inspired by Ömer’s childhood memories of his uncle taking him fishing; he defines it as Mediterranean, aromatic, and aquatic, blending sea salt, gasoline, jasmine, algae, and ouzo. I don’t smell the gasoline or algae, just that salty tone alongside the vetiver and anise, quite natural. In the dry-down, the vetiver takes over, though a hint of citrus and salt remains, but very low. It’s a woody vetiver, not too earthy, light, and doesn’t get heavy like in other perfumes. The longevity on skin is good for its type, and the projection is notable for the first few hours, though after two or three hours it stays closer to the skin. I see it as suitable for any climate, more suited for mild weather, unisex with a masculine lean. It’s versatile and ideal for any occasion. I enjoyed the experience, but not enough to buy the bottle since the price isn’t friendly. Recommended to try it if you like citrus-marine scents with vetiver.
