  It’s an interesting pick if you like tropical scents. Just to be clear, this doesn’t smell like sunscreen. It’s primarily a dense, carnal, sun-drenched floral bouquet, with frangipani taking center stage. Beyond the flowers, which remain prominent throughout, you’ll notice salty air that evokes the sea breeze. This might be a hit or a miss, but it’s what makes Belle de Soleil stand out from other perfumes in this category. If I had to compare it, even though I’m not a huge fragrance expert, I’d say it’s closest to Bronze Goddess by Estée Lauder in terms of creaminess, though the latter has coconut and lacks the salty notes found in Belle de Soleil. Would I recommend it? Blindly, yes, given the price. What Fragonard offers is well-made perfumes at a great price. This is an eau de toilette, but it has decent longevity, even if its sillage is quite soft.
