  • It’s a very good fragrance, though pricey and hard to find, it’s worth it. It smells like intense, elegant amber, making you want to smell it more. Then the flowers come out, followed by wood at the end. It seems inspired by Tom Ford’s Amber Absolute; the perfumer loved it so much that when it was discontinued, he made his own version, and in my opinion, improved upon it.

  • What doesn’t convince me about this house is the performance; since it’s niche and expensive, I expected more. It’s a shame because the fragrances are incredible. Out of the entire line, Amber Absolutely is the only one with decent performance and a pleasant scent. If I had to choose one, it would be this; the others are mediocre or disastrous.

I tried this perfume today, and honestly, it’s not for me or what I expected. Still, it has quality and deserves a good rating, but I wouldn’t wear it. The amber smells medicinal and animalic; if I hadn’t read the list, I’d think it’s amber, resins, spices, and lots of honey. Reading the notes, I recognize them, though the first impression is different. It has a barbershop and vintage perfume vibe; I put it on and thought of my dandy grandfather from when I was little. For me, it sits between Cœur du Désert by Tauer and Tabu by Dana. The performance is better than other brands in the line, though not amazing, which surprised me negatively, much like with Libre d’Orange. It’s not bad; it’s above average. I see it as more masculine, ideal for cool nights. Scent: 7, Longevity: 8, Projection: 6, Value: 5, Versatility: 6, Originality: 7, Overall: 7.5.
