Vanilla Silk is a top-tier reduced spray gem from Gallagher. It reminds me of Maison Margiela’s By The Fireplace, but less smoky and hazelnutty. The vanilla, musk, and woods are always present, sparkling more at the start before settling down but remaining bright. I prefer Margiela for being more potent and complex; this isn’t bad and I love it, but I wouldn’t buy it again as I find it a bit repetitive. Rating: 8/10
A more feminine and sophisticated take on By The Fireplace, which I personally can’t wear because the smoky notes are too invasive and give me nausea. (Plus, it feels like camping next to a bonfire where the smoke smell sticks to your hair and clothes 🤢). I think Vanilla Silk is better balanced; it’s easy to wear in many settings, and I appreciate its versatility. On the dry down, I sense a mini similarity to Cloud in the sweet notes, but VS is much more refined. Out of all the vanillas I own (which are many: Luna Feline, Orchidee Vanille, Vanille de Madagascar, Zafeer Oud Vanille, Vanilla 28, Vanilla Coco 21, Vaniglia), this is one of my favorites.
A super cozy and tender perfume. Smoky vanilla and beeswax wrap you in a warm aura. It feels like a vanilla candle with a sandalwood wick, period; however, it’s not synthetic or loud, but rather delicate. It works great for lounging at home or intimate parties. Lasts quite a bit for being soft (around 8-10 hours), but only projects for the first two hours; after that, it stays as a personal scent, though you can still detect it when you move.

One of the best vanillas in my collection, even though I own plenty. It gives me a vanilla gum vibe; exquisite and sadly hard to find. Slightly smoky vanilla, very unisex and sweet.
