It opens with pu'er tea, dark, earthy and steeped. That single note sets a quiet mood and signals a scent built on depth instead of lift.
The tea accord stays front and center at first, fermented and dry with an almost herbal edge. It feels grounding and gives Slow World its distinctive calm character.
The heart brings together dragon's blood resin, malt and saffron. The resin adds balsamic richness, the malt brings a soft grain-like sweetness, and the saffron adds dry spice that keeps the blend from turning too sweet.
The base pairs vanilla pod with incense and sandalwood. Vanilla smooths the edges, incense adds a light resinous smoke, and sandalwood provides a creamy woody bed that stretches the drydown.
Overall it reads balsamic, warm spicy, vanilla-like, smoky and ambery, with woody, powdery and aromatic facets and a whiskey-like hint from malt meeting vanilla. It wears best in cool weather and in the evening, when its cozy, low-key warmth can unfold.
