Don’t be alarmed by this review. I’m not going to elevate this fragrance nor diminish my beloved Terre d’Hermes, but there is a genuine parallel. Before writing this, I hadn’t seen the Fragrantica English review, and indeed, four people had already voted for its similarity to Terre d’Hermes (I’m the fifth vote). This Benetton scent smells of bitter orange peel, somewhat synthetically inclined. And isn’t that what Terre d’Hermes smells like? Well, yes and no. While this aroma/note dominates Terre d’Hermes, it’s not the only one; Terre d’Hermes has a more sophisticated evolution. This Benetton fragrance was launched two years after Terre d’Hermes, so it will forever carry the label: “copy.” When I analyzed the notes, I noticed there aren’t many matches, but the citrus notes are there, they are absolute protagonists of this fragrance, but don’t expect a typical citrus scent; this is: bitter orange peel with a synthetic touch (not poorly presented; despite my aversion to synthetics, I must say that here that touch is appreciated). So I’ll repeat what someone says on Fragrantica in English: If you like Terre d’Hermes, you can get this fragrance, significantly cheaper. I like it, as much as I like Terre d’Hermes.
