An orgasm for the nose. Perfect for a cruise or a lazy afternoon at the beach. Ufff, it’s flawless.
I ended up craving Galliano more and started with this Eau Fraîche of Parlez-moi d’amour. It’s not rebellious or typical of Galliano, but it’s very lovely. It opens with a juicy, sparkling grapefruit, gaseous and spicy from the sweet-and-sour ginger. The heart is a white floral, watery, and sweet, with soft flowers. The base is fresh and woody cypress, slightly musky and talc-like as it dries down. Perfect for spring and summer, clean and relaxing, ideal for starting the day with a smile. Very youthful. Even though it’s floral, I feel it’s more fruity: sweet citrus, nothing sour. Between Versense (minus the woody notes) and Donna by Trussardi, it has the elegance of both at a much lower price. A perfect unisex scent, but with one flaw: very weak longevity and sillage, about 4 hours, though enough for an Eau Fraîche. Don’t mind reapplying. The bottle is a surprise and evokes vacation postcards. The seal is real, stuck to the glass, not a drawing. It can peel off, haven’t tried it yet, but we’ll see… hehe. On the silver cap, it says in English something like ‘and this is the reason I write to you, my love.’ It reminds me of summer outings with friends, afternoons at the beach with popsicles, glances at sunbathers, hand-holding walks, and stolen kisses at sunset with a taste of sunscreen and salt. Friendships made by the coast, families who settled there, and other French, English, or Italian friends who broke the language barrier (in adolescence, language is universal) until summer ended. A sweet and innocent fragrance that evokes those teenage summer loves. Nothing like Galliano’s temperament, but I’ve loved it so much.

I liked it, but it didn’t feel special to me. It smells citrusy, pleasant, and not sour, with ginger and a soapy touch at the start that fades into a woody base. For me, who isn’t a huge fan of citrus, it’s a good one. Soft trail and low longevity. It’s a rich, clean, and fresh scent I’d wear if someone gifted it to me, but I wouldn’t buy it myself. Scent: 7/10, Longevity: 4/10, Sillage: 4/10, Value: 4/10, Versatility: 9/10, Packaging: 10/10. Would I buy it again? No.

Perfect for summer. Without that touch of ginger, it would be very linear, but it makes it effervescent and spicy (without being as aggressive as black pepper). I’ll try it again with more Galliano, and maybe, who knows, with this little treasure. On skin, it lasted about 5-7 hours with a moderate trail for the first two hours.
