I’ve been wearing this gem for a few months and I’m absolutely thrilled. It’s an intense, long-lasting fragrance just like its sister, Maroussia—a real showstopper, powerful from the start and throughout its evolution. It opens spicy with sweet paprika and ginger, though I don’t detect any tangerine. Soon, the tiare flower takes center stage, sweetened by vanilla and amber, with a creamy texture thanks to the sandalwood base. Lasts about 6 hours, projecting for 4 and the rest is a beautiful skin scent. Perfect for cold climates or summer nights, suitable for men and women 25 and up, with no upper age limit. In short, it smells like a brand-new doll; it’s opulent and perfect for those who like to turn heads—the kind where the fragrance arrives first, then they do. A 10/10 for me; I’d buy it over and over again. I’m even looking to get a refill to use it as if there’s no tomorrow. I love it 😉
Both Maroussia and this scent smell synthetic and heavy, with a thick amber that clings to the skin and projects an overwhelming personal odor. Underneath, a linear, non-evolving vanilla-musk gives the impression of being in a neglected nursing home: leaves falling outside the window, caregivers rushing back and forth, an old armchair, sadness, boredom, cracked tiles, and pills ready for the hour. It feels like a wasted life and regret over things left undone. It has way more negative vibes than Demeter’s Funeral Home, radiating absolute pity and seeming to have stolen ingredients from Maroussia—where’s the ginger and tangerine? It doesn’t remind me of the 1997 series or the 1990 French film; instead, it pushes me toward Mar Adentro. No more of this Russian brand for me. It contains BHT, so I didn’t resell it because I was too embarrassed; I just threw it away because it truly didn’t cut it. Au Revoir, Nikita Nipongo! 🕯️ 1/10. 🍂 An English website review of the base notes mentions the dry-down is very acidic and unpleasant for both skin and nose; after a few days, it turned sour and yellowish. I have other perfumes over 10 years old that are still in great condition. If you see a bottle at a secondhand market, don’t waste your money.
