It’s a citrus fragrance where bergamot takes the lead and stays that way. Then comes the magic: a very soft patchouli appears alongside the cedar. Perfect for going out at night or for daytime wear. It has personality.
I received a decant and hated it. The opening is rich, fresh, and citrusy, but once it dries down, it smells so synthetic and ugly that it gives me a headache.
Ajmal Mystery is a fantastic find in Arabic perfumery with a Western soul. It opens with an ultra-clean citrus and a zesty bergamot, but what sets it apart from the ‘blues’ is that herbal thyme note in the heart. As it dries down, the patchouli and cedar add a maturity you won’t find in Dylan Blue or Sauvage. It’s elegant, serious, and super versatile. Lasts well for 6-7 hours with moderate sillage. Given the price, the bottle, and the scent, it feels high-end. Totally recommended for the office.
