There aren’t many things in my life as special as Musa Paradisiaca. It’s a very distinctive, impactful, and easy-to-love perfume. It’s one of those that impresses anyone with its construction: the green opening of the banana leaf is realistic yet friendly, as if it’s caressing you, with a deep, slightly sweet neroli that gives a juicy, tropical sensation, perhaps due to the Ylang Ylang. It feels like a blend of ingredients on another level that you won’t smell anywhere else: Italian, timeless, even metrosexual. It’s my first perfume with civet, and I love it so much. It’s the kind you want to wear to a summer wedding. Unisex, though with a slight feminine touch. Something anyone should try. The price might be a deterrent, but works of art as valuable and original as these are worth every cent.

The craftsmanship is impressive; right out of the bottle, it smells like the green part of a banana leaf—realistic yet super friendly, as if it’s caressing you. Then comes a deep, almost sweet neroli that gives a juicy, tropical sensation, likely thanks to the Ylang Ylang. It’s a blend of ingredients on another level that you won’t find anywhere else: Italian, timeless, and I’d even say metrosexual. It’s my first perfume with civet, and I absolutely love it. It’s the kind of scent you’d wear to a summer wedding. It’s unisex, though it leans slightly feminine. Something anyone should try. The price might be a barrier, but works of art as valuable and original as this are worth every penny.

Today I’m bringing you the most beautiful jewel of my 2023 collection: Musa Paradisiaca, a super natural and carnal floral that has me crazy. It’s an ode by Cristian Cavagna to tuberose in various facets. Its opening is green and already hints at that paradise of neroli and Ylang Ylang that comes next. The neroli, as its name indicates, smells like ripe bananas, and the floral sweetness is boosted by the Ylang Ylang. I’ve read that it has a distant echo of Baccarat Rouge; I notice it too, but it’s not even close. That similarity in the dry-down shows up after the tenth hour, and in my opinion, it doesn’t make it seem repetitive if you already have the MFK or similar scents. It has a brutal trail and lasts more than 15 hours on my skin. Although I don’t attach much importance to compliments, when you wear it, people can’t stop asking what you’re wearing. It’s spectacular, unforgettable, intoxicating, an absolute marvel. After using the sample, I already have the full bottle, and it’s made me want to keep testing the creator’s work. Scent 10/10, Longevity 10/10, Sillage 10/10, Value for Money 8.5/10, Versatility 6.5/10, Packaging 9/10. Would I buy it again? Yes.

Musa Paradisiaca, the scientific name for the banana tree, has a green opening that hints at the paradise of neroli and Ylang Ylang that follows. The neroli, as the name suggests, smells like ripe bananas, and the floral sweetness is amplified by the Ylang Ylang. I’ve read that it has a faint echo of Baccarat Rouge; I notice it too, but it’s nothing alike. Those similarities in the dry-down appear after the tenth hour, and in my opinion, they don’t make anyone feel it’s repetitive if you already own the MFK version or similar scents.
