  Today I’m back with the pleasure of talking about one of the two new releases from @puente_perfumes. When I say pleasure, I mean it with all the force of the opening notes of IRIS DOUX. A perfume that has made me fall in love with one of the most expensive and luxurious ingredients. It starts with an explosion of orris butter that stops you and makes you wonder if what you’re smelling is real. Fresh, creamy, powdery, and enveloping, it’s the protagonist of the beginning, gradually accompanied by ingredients that enhance it but never leave it alone. Like a double-sided coin where the intensity plays out on your skin. Ylang-ylang and frangipani, two yellow flowers with exuberance and exotic scents, take over the heart notes. Sweet, sensual, and nocturnal, it settles on the skin like a cream; its warm and almost bitter nuances blend perfectly, releasing an aphrodisiac scent that softens the delicacy of the mimosa. The base is a warm, woody ensemble wrapped in intensely penetrating flowers. Jasmine and geranium with slight green touches continue to intoxicate the nose, filling their petals with cedar and sandalwood; thus, the perfume leaves floral sweetness to become more woody, with aromas reminiscent of soft animal skin. Finally, vanilla and tonka bean offer more sweetness and return to the nose the memory of the iris that never abandons, turning this beautiful perfume into an intimate and carnal aroma.   Huge formula. Of the three Puente models, this is the summit of excellence; the ingredient quality is staggering. Iris Doux must be a must-have in any serious collection. The rest has been said in the previous review by Mr. Pedrogm39💯.

  Spring and transmutation into iris. Here it is: iris bathed in flowers, cleaner than powdery, more feminine than masculine, and if you push aside your prejudices, pure bliss. The initial burst is invasive, as if petals and oils had exploded, giving way to a floral bouquet leaning toward the white spectrum with slight warm touches, perhaps from Ylang-Ylang. The woods only accompany in the background, softening the floral orgy without taking center stage. The iris dominates so much that it yields part of its power to be wrapped in pure jasmine tones; that’s where the magic appears. You even perceive a faint green note underscoring that this juice ignores the synthetic. The explosive trail fades quickly, retreating to the skin and becoming a personal delight, more daytime than nighttime. Don’t expect long-lasting duration or for it to stay there whenever you want. For one or two hours, you’ll feel it in symbiosis with you; then it withdraws and calms down. This timidity isn’t a bad quality; quite the opposite: because they are so natural, their destiny is to fade, though the memory persists on your wrist eight or nine hours later. Extraordinary work by Puente. I’ve begged, by God and devil, that they not reformulate it. Do you like iris? Try Iris Doux. You’re already late. I said it.
