Icy Hard Candy caught me off guard; it wasn’t what I was looking for. It’s pretty but complex: incredible longevity, either you love it or it kills you. The spicy opening with patchouli is brutal and doesn’t suit me, lasting only about two minutes. Then comes a potent duo of Nardos and Ylang Ylang, with no other florals. As it dries down, it transforms completely: it becomes creamy, sweet, and slightly balsamic, like a different perfume altogether. The powdery accord just doesn’t work on my skin. Interestingly, out of the three Sweet Atelier scents, this is the one I like the most and performs the best. It lasts over 10 hours on my skin with high projection for the first 4, and on clothes until washed. Do not buy blind.
