  The start is pure smoke, very strong at first, but then it fades. Over time, a dark fougere emerges with a warm touch that feels very welcoming. I assume the oud and rose, even if I don’t smell them individually, help tame this beast. The projection and sillage are beastly; it’s a powerful perfume. It smells of wood, forest, and dampness, like a classic vampire with his cape on. It’s lugubrious and cozy at the same time, dark and warm. Very attractive if you like challenging perfumes.

  It slips away from me; it has a challenging allure but just doesn’t work for me. The opening is incredibly dense and annoying, smelling like concentrated playdough, dark and smoky. That’s not my style. After a while, it lightens up a bit, though it still feels like a mud pie with cigarette butts. I’ll deduct two points for that, but watch out. I detect a very dark oud that adds moisture and darkness; that wet aspect is novel. There’s more smoke and some resinous notes. It’s not versatile—the experience isn’t bad, but there are more cons than pros. It lasts like a dark alley, begging for night and cold. Anyway, not for me.
