Descripción

Freedomland by Mandarina Duck is a fruity floral fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2020, it was created by Carine Boin. The top notes unfold with strawberry, pineapple, mint, Brazilian orange, basil, and Italian lemon; the heart reveals a blend of piña colada, coconut milk, lychee, and jasmine; while the base notes complete the composition with a pisco sour cocktail, cherry, musk, and heliotrope.

  • What a surprise! I know Mandarina Duck and they have decent products at modest prices. I’ve tried all three in the collection, and to my surprise, this pineapple doesn’t follow the Aventus path; instead, it resembles (quite a bit) Erba Pura by Xerjoff or Ole de Monegal… with its differences, of course, but this is only 24€. It’s a less citrusy and piercing pineapple, more rough and fruity. It projects a lot (the most of the three) and seems to last well, though the heat and sweetness make me feel a bit overwhelmed. I think it’s a solid launch, novel for a unisex design house, with good performance. It has everything to talk about. Edit: the longevity is tremendous, holding up very well after 5 hours.

  • It didn’t go well for me: the longevity on my skin is terrible, not even 2 hours. The notes I smell most right after spraying are piña colada, coconut, basil, and musk. It’s basically a generic summer perfume that smells like Victoria Secret-style body cream. I’m testing it in spring here. The packaging is eye-catching and the price isn’t high, though I feel like it’s money down the drain.

Full-on fruity opening with orange, sugar, and a sparkling, champagne-like touch that adds freshness. The trail is moderate, ideal for summer. But the longevity is weak; with luck, an hour, and then it’s gone. The scent is delicious and striking for the season; pity the poor staying power.

  • Full-on fruity opening, but I don’t detect pineapple, orange, or lemon; it’s entirely berry-based, sweet without being cloying, and quite feminine. It’s gourmand, but for reminding me of a good glass of berry juice, not for realism. Lasts 2 hours projecting to a meter, detectable from an arm’s length without sniffing, and skin-scent by the fifth hour. Very summery, and the price (~20€ for 100ml) is perfect.

Sugar, sugar, and more sugar. It gets a bit heavy over time… It’s not sophisticated or new; in fact, it has a childish vibe. I wouldn’t recommend it for heat; you’ll suffocate 😂. It’s like a binge of sweet and sour candies, but if you’re looking for something simple, sweet, and affordable, you might like it.

  • What a discovery! I didn’t know Mandarina Duck had this fragrance (I only knew Vida Loca), and I loved its fruity opening. As the box says, it’s ‘genderless,’ so it can be unisex if you like gourmand scents that aren’t heavy.

  • I love it, even with that childish note others mention: it literally smells like fruity candy. In the heat, you suffocate; it’s not worth it. On my skin, it fades quickly and leaves a slightly ‘cheap’ trail after half an hour… but I can’t help but like it. If you’re looking to smell like a fruit salad, a late-afternoon beach trip with kiosk gummies, or a piña colada, this is it.
