Absolutely nothing like what I expected. The opening cedar is brutal—way too strong. It reminded me of Encre Noire, and I thought I’d been scammed. Then it fades, letting other nuances emerge. At first, it smells of cedar and green fig, not ripe fig. The dry down is flawless: the cedar recedes to reveal a subtle floral note, followed by a citrus touch that gives it a summery, wearable vibe. It has a soapy, clean base. It’s well-made, but if you don’t like the Encre Noire-style green notes, this isn’t for you. It’s masculine, versatile (less so in winter), lasts 6-7+ hours, and smells great. The price is excellent. No surprises; it has everything I commented on and is exactly what I was looking for. Interesting and a great value.
