  Another beast from Miguel Matos, but with a fresher twist. The green-floral opening is powerful and great, with that stickiness that makes us all feel ill-mannered. It’s very different, though quite wearable, knowing his fragrances need character. Powerful, fresh, floral, and with Oud 😱, ideal for the brave in spring, autumn, and winter. Congratulations to Miguel for pulling us out of the comfort zone again!

The green-floral opening is fantastic and powerful, as always, with that sticky blend that leaves us feeling ill-mannered. Much more different but quite wearable, of course his creations demand character. A powerful, fresh, floral fragrance with Oud 😱, perfect for those who dare to be different in spring, autumn, and winter. Congratulations to Miguel for pulling us out of the comfort zone once again!

  No shred of doubt: Miguel Matos creates photographic perfumes that aim to capture the spirit of a moment, and ‘Unfold’ proves it. The first time you try it, you know you’re in for something different, perhaps disorienting at first. For me, it hit with the warm scent of pages from a pink magazine, that aroma of colored paper filled with the latest gossip of celebrities. It was a great start for me because I love the smell of fresh ink on new paper. Plus, the fragrance is fresh and very pleasant, yet full of body and character—a contradiction that unfolds over time. Pleasant but not common; characterful but not aggressive. Gradually, it reveals a prism of floral, herbal, and metallic notes, like an army of robots strolling through the woods or a festival set up in the countryside. To these notes joins a futuristic incense and that inescapable tone of industrial cleanliness, chemical hygiene. The whole is suggestive, full of glimmers and twists to get lost in, with a marked personality. ‘Unfold’ works for any occasion: its fresh side functions well for daily wear or formal settings, in winter or summer. And it has beastly performance, spectacular, so it can be used at night without anyone side-eyeing you. Just calibrate the sprays so you don’t irradiate the office. Matos says he wanted to recreate the ecstasy of a techno rave. And there’s definitely something of that. This play of light and shadow, metal and nature, reminds me of being at an outdoor club on the outskirts. You have a blast at night, dancing and drinking, and at dawn the sky clears and you’re laughing with friends, all shirtless, when that mix of dry and green aromas from the slopes and the metal of the dance floor hits you in the breeze. In short, this is the scent of Unfold, the smell of being young, being alive, and enjoying the end of the party.
